I hope your January is off to a great start!
We are close to mid way through January (how did that happen?!), and I can already feel the potential that 2025 is offering. One thing I am certain of is that connection, community, collaboration and knowledge sharing are going to be key themes this year and will make the difference in how you level up professionally and personally.
With that in mind Peer Suite will be opening our online membership soon and it will be FREE for our founding members so stay tuned for your invitation to apply.
In this week's edition, we’re diving into what to do if you feel like you’re already behind, how the “platter trick” can help you reach your goals, upcoming women's networking events and more.

It's ok if you haven't hit your stride on your 2025 habits and goals
Let’s be honest - most of us put a lot of pressure on January.
Whether it’s eating healthier, working out more, or being more productive in our work, we often have (arguably unrealistic) goals of what the new year will bring.
Setting goals is a dopamine hit, and we can feel like we are making progress just by putting pen to paper! I personally mapped out lots of lofty personal and professional goals only to already feel like I’m behind 🙈.
So if you’re feeling behind too, just know that that’s ok, you are not alone! Our year might start in January, but it certainly doesn’t end in January.
Here are some quick tips to help if you are already feeling behind in 2025:
- Have a reset mentality: Have you ever started the day with a bad morning and let it throw off the rest of your day? Feeling bad about ourselves for not meeting our January goals is the same. Don’t let the fact you aren’t exactly where you want to be right now get you off track for the entire month (or year). Instead, look at each day as a new opportunity to make progress on what’s important to you.
- Go back to your goals list: As I mentioned, writing down our goals is a dopamine hit, and the more goals, the higher the dopamine. So it is very easy to end up with a massive list of goals and habits we want to achieve, but having so many things on the list can make them overwhelming. Go back to your list and trim the fat - identify the key needle moving goals that you actually want and need to have happen this year and focus on those. And if you don't want to permanently delete the low priority goals, hold on to the list and reevaluate once you are in a stronger place with the core goals.
- Break it down: Our January resolutions tend to be huge, lofty goals so instead of trying to take it on all at once, break each of your goals down into the steps that need to happen each month and each week to make progress.
- Key driver: Identify one specific action or habit that is going to create the biggest impact on you being able to achieve your goal. Then commit to doing that and the rest will follow.
- The friend test: We are often our own harshest critics, so next time you start beating yourself up, think about what you would say to a close friend if they came to you with the same problem. For example, if your friend said they are disappointed they haven't worked out as much as they hoped, you would probably give them kind encouragement instead of telling them off. Do the same for yourself!
Even if you aren’t off to the start you imagined on your wine-infused December vision board, don't worry - there are exactly 352 days left in 2025 to get make progress!
