๐Ÿ“Œ The Agenda: Ten questions to ask before the year ends

Welcome back to the Peer Suite Agenda, your weekly briefing on what matters for your career, network, and next move.

Our next curated networking morning is on Tuesday 20th October at The Roof Gardens, and we have a second date on Tuesday 17th November if October doesn't work for you. We also cover how to do a thirty-minute audit of your year, new reports from Women In Work and what's on our radar this week.

THE ROOF GARDENS | 20TH OCTOBER

Women's Curated Networking Morning

Start your morning with genuine connections at one of London's most exclusive private venues. This curated networking morning brings together professional women in finance, law, and tech at The Roof Gardens, with personally matched introductions prepared for every guest.

LONDON | OCTOBER

Peer Suite Members' Weekend Brunch

A relaxed weekend brunch with other Peer Suite members. There's no agenda, just a long table, good food and time to get to know the women you've been meeting at our events and in the members' platform. It's a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet a few new ones and enjoy an unhurried conversation.

๐Ÿ› WHO STILL HOLDS THE TOP JOBS The first Glass Ceiling Tracker from the Women in Work Summit charts nearly three decades of female leadership. Its headline finding is that around 80% of FTSE 100 and S&P 100 companies have still never appointed a woman as CEO.

๐ŸŽจ BOOK YOUR TICKETS Frieze London runs from 14th to 18th October in Regentโ€™s Park, with 50 presentations from galleries around the world, a new commission by Gray Wielebinski and a talks programme that includes Grayson Perry. If you cannot get to the fair itself, Frieze Sculpture stays in the parkโ€™s English Gardens until 1st November.

๐ŸŒธ WORLD MENOPAUSE DAY falls on Sunday 18th October, and I met Belles Berry last week, who co-wrote Menolicious. It is a midlife cookbook with more than 100 quick, nutritious recipes, around 90% of which take 30 minutes or less, developed with a nutritionist to ease symptoms, balance hormones and support weight management.

๐Ÿ“– ON THE SHELF Dame Judi Denchโ€™s memoir, Is It Too Late to Make a Run for It?, is published on 22nd October. Written with her friend and writing partner Brendan Oโ€™Hea, it follows her from a childhood in York through seven decades of work, her marriage to Michael Williams and her love of nature, with plenty of pranks along the way.

๐Ÿช” A FREE SUNDAY OUT Diwali on the Square takes over Trafalgar Square on Sunday 25th October from 1pm to 7pm, and it is free with no need to book. It opens with a dance sequence involving 200 dancers, followed by music and performances on the main stage, a market and food stalls with vegan and vegetarian options.

Women in Work Gender Equity Measure Report 2026. Published by the Women in Work Summit in partnership with LinkedIn, this annual review covers 400 of the largest companies in the UK and tracks progress on closing workplace equality gaps. National Careers Service skills assessment. Forty multiple-choice questions that take about five to ten minutes and show you what motivates you, along with career suggestions to compare. You receive a reference code at the end so you can return to your results later. TAKE THE ASSESSMENTโ€‹

Mid-October is when the year-end rush starts to take over your diary (I am already planning for Q1 2027!), and the time to think about how your career has progressed over the year usually waits until the last minute in December

A career audit is best done when you are not trying to fit it in last minute between end-of-year meetings. Set aside 30 minutes now to go over these ten questions, from your biggest win to what challenged you most, the skills you built and who in your network added the most value.

Choose two or three priorities from the patterns you find when answering the questions and then use the last two months of the year to set yourself up for 2027.
