here's how to hold space πŸ€—

It's certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas, so in this weekend's edition you'll learn about an underground Christmas-themed pop-up movie, a night market, shopping from unique female brands, and more!

With the girls: It's December, so what better way to get in the Christmas spirit than by visiting one of the many, many Christmas markets in London. This weekend you can plan a visit to the Hawk’s Nest Christmas Market, where you can enjoy mulled wine and late night Christmas markets all under the toasty heated terrace.

Going solo: Don't let the odd name of Eel Pie Island turn you off! This unique artist island off the Thames is closed to visitors except for 2 weekends a year, and lucky for you this weekend is one of the rare times you can visit! You can go for free but need to book your tickets here.

Date night: Fancy a unique date for a pop up Christmas cinema in an underground subway? Then head to the Pop Up Screens event at the Crystal Palace subway, which just received a massive renovation and is running Christmas movie viewings all month, including favourites like Home Alone, Elf, and Love Actually.

Staying in: If the rainy weather has you staying indoors this weekend, you can binge a bit of Netflix's latest thriller Black Doves. Not to be confused with Black Swan, Black Doves stars Keira Knightley in a 6-part spy thriller which currently has 100% (!) on Rotten Tomatoes.

Natural History Museum Afternoon Tea: Christmas means Christmas themed afternoon teas, and it's hard to think of a more unique spot than tea inside of the Natural History Museum. The spread is great, and the tea includes access to the museum's private members area so you can dine while mulling the evolutionary history of the Earth.

The Burrows in Wales: Live out your hobbit dreams in this one-of-a-kind property in Wales. This holiday home has a private hot tub and plenty of space to run around or cosy up inside to escape from the city.

Rounding up our top picks from some of the UK's best female founded brands.

Holding Space

Are you a little confused by the "holding space" term being thrown around? Me too, so I did some digging.

The term worked its way into pop culture when mentioned in a Wicked interview with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.

Interestingly, the term "holding space" has been around a lot longer in the therapeutic world, where it simply means being fully present for someone else in a non-judgmental way.

Even if you're not suuuper in tune with the latest Wicked references (and I am certainly not), I think we can all get behind being fully present with someone, especially when they are sharing something that they are worried might be judged.

So the next time a friend or family member wants to chat and isn't sure how you'll react, channel your inner Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and "hold space" for them by listening to them without any judgment!

Have a lovely weekend!

See you on Monday,
