don’t wrap up the year without doing this first 🎁

The end of the year is in sight, but before you rush out the door and put up your OOO, it's time to celebrate that special someone in your life.

No, not your partner/your dog/your favourite wine glass, but YOU.

This week, we’re diving into how to reflect on your work wins, boost your confidence, and end the year on the high note you deserve.

At this time of year it's very easy to get caught up in celebrating everyone around you, but make sure to take some time to celebrate yourself as well!

Reflecting on the past year and celebrating your accomplishments, big and small, will help you to see your progress and position you to start 2025 in a positive way.

So, this week it's all about celebrating your work and personal wins from the year.

Here's how:

Make a wins list

Start by listing every win you've had this year.

Simply brain dump every achievement you can think of on a piece of paper or in a doc.

Big wins will be easy to remember, like that pay raise or promotion, but try to write down some of the smaller wins too.

Maybe you gave a presentation even though you were nervous? Or you made a new connection at a networking event you didn't have at this time last year?

These smaller wins are the building blocks that help you progress your career. They may not seem like much individually, but together they are the foundations that lead to you achieving your bigger career goals.

Add the best wins to your brag file

I've previously talked about how a "brag" file can help you in your career (and I'm sure you've started one right?), so listing your wins is the perfect time to add to (or start) your brag file.

This file is where you can collect all of the positive feedback you've received from your job, your work colleagues and contacts outside of your organisation.

The brag file comes in especially handy at this time of year as you can use it when preparing for your annual review, but it is also a great reference any time you are feeling a little low or impostor syndrome starts to creep in.

Now take some of your favourite wins from the first list and add them to your brag file.

Treat yourself

Wins on paper are great, but it is also helpful to actually give yourself a reward or gift to celebrate these wins. Using a reward method attached to goals can actually help motivate you to achieve them - when we get to 2025 goal planning we can talk more about that!

For now, carve out a little slice of your Christmas budget to treat yourself to something that celebrates the wins and progress you have made this year.

It doesn't need to be extravagant, it could be taking yourself to that theatre show you have been wanting to see, getting yourself a nice investment piece of jewellery or getting a luxury candle to put on your desk.

Your gift to yourself is a thank you for the hard work you have put in, and a reminder of the progress that you have made - so you now have full permission to splurge a little bit!

Book: The 12 Week Year

The thought of accomplishing more in 12 weeks than most people do in 12 months might sound unrealistic, but that's the premise of the 12 Week Year book. It's a great read to prep yourself going into 2025.

Have a lovely week!

See you on Thursday when I will share what's happening over the weekend and how you can make the most of your time off.
