Leadership isn’t just for people with big titles. Whether you're the most junior person in the room or a senior team member without direct reports, your influence still matters. But knowing how to lead - without stepping on toes or waiting for permission - can be a learning curve.

Our Thoughts
We often associate leadership with authority, but in reality, the best leaders are those who influence, inspire, and create impact - regardless of where they sit on the org chart. The truth is, your ability to lead starts with how you show up: Do you take initiative? Can you bring people together? Do others trust you to get things done?

Leading from where you are means contributing ideas, owning your responsibilities, and being someone others want to work with. And in environments where promotions are slow or hierarchy rules, showing leadership attributes early on can be the thing that sets you apart.

Try This
- Think influence over authority - leadership is how you act day to day, not your title.
- Volunteer to take the lead on a project or offer to mentor a newer team member.
- Start small: suggest a new process, facilitate a meeting, or help connect colleagues.
- Ask yourself: Where can I add value or momentum, even if no one asked me to?

How do you show up as a leader in your work? And for the executives here, what tips do you have to show leadership qualities early in your career? Let us know, and we can share them in a future newsletter!

The best things we watched, read, and listened to this week - plus new content from inside the Peer Suite Members Library.

- Ever wondered what it takes to become the next OpenAI? Mira Murati’s new AI lab might be your next source of inspiration - and it’s going after a $2B round.
- Could being reminded of the gender gap actually push more women into leadership? This new research says yes - and it’s changing the conversation about confidence and ambition.
- Nearly half of working women say they feel stressed “a lot of the day.” This new Gallup study shows just how real the burnout is, and why balance still feels so out of reach.
- From the tennis court to the boardroom, Serena is backing the next generation of women through her $100M+ venture fund and new role as co-owner of a WNBA team.

Sana's advice: "Don’t assume hard work speaks for itself. Everyone’s advocating for themselves, so you should too. Some research suggests 85% of jobs come through networking (HBR). So visibility and relationships are key at every stage of your career" |
